Our Family- December 2011



STACEYALECK.COM	Amanda Rachel & Robin Beatrice Amanda was born on Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at 3:16 pm Robin was born on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 9:24 pm December 2011 We had a very exciting month complete with holidays, travel, birthday celebrations, and new skills. We spent some time with family at Samantha's bowling birthday party. And, of course, we went to California to celebrate Christmas with Aleck's family. This year was a little more challenging, in that Amanda was more aware of Christmas and Hanukkah and their differences. She was excited about both holidays, and they were both happy with the gift giving aspect. Robin made the most of the cross-cultural aspect by spending many hours dancing to Hanukkah songs in front of the Christmas tree. Amanda's also made up her new favorite rhyme, "Robin B, do you see the lights on the Christmas tree?"







	Overheard this month: Amanda
	Asking the Magic 8 Ball a question: "Why do we have God?"




	Robin's Got The Blues
	Aleck:	"What did you do at school today?"
	Robin:	"We painted."
	Stacey:	"What did you paint?"
	Robin (proudly):	"My HAIR!"





	Happy Birthday Samantha!
	Samantha had a bowling party with all of her friends... and her cousins.





	Bowling goes much more smoothly when you use bumpers and a ramp.







	Hanukkah Happenings
	Hanukkah Tot Shabbat with Ms. Carol... and Charlie and Elena!





	Charlie is challah helper; Amanda leads a song; Robin and Elena are candle helpers.





	The kids are Hanukkah candles burning down.



	Hanukkah=Presents + Fire!

	Amanda made her own menorah at Hebrew school and got to light it (we then blew it out) and Robin got to have unlit candles in hers.

	I guess the book wasn't as interesting as she thought it might be...


	New Haircut!



	Overheard this month
	The girls have gotten into playing Angry Birds.
	When Amanda successfully topples the evil pig, she gives an excited "YESSSS!" combined with a hand clap and a celebratory fist pump.
	Robin often makes this request: "I want to pull the birds!"








	Merry Christmas! Presents, Family, and SoCal. So Cool.





	Amanda, Robin, and Matty waited patiently all morning and were rewarded with lots of goodies!















	Overheard this month: Robin
	Robin was pulling on Stacey's arm while Stacey was talking to Amanda
	Stacey:	"Robin, please say 'excuse me.'"
	Robin:	"Excuse me, Mommy."
	Stacey:	"Yes, Robin?"
	Robin:	"I want to talk to Daddy, please."



	The girls each got a make your own bear kit from Matty







	Overheard this month: Robin
	"Old MacDonald had a cow, E-I-E-I-O"

	Overheard this month: Robin
	Stacey:	Sniff. "Robin, what's in your diaper?"
	Robin:	"Poop."
	Stacey:	"Robin, you have to tell me when there's poop in your diaper."
	Robin:	"Mommy, I have poop."



	Being so far away from home, we missed our creature comforts,
	so we went to a Bouncy House.
